Whether you've been in Cleveland before, or you're a first-time visitor, you won't want to miss the Historical areas of interest around the city as well as the Landmarks located throughout the city. It's simply out of this world!
Landmarks, Historic Sites
City Hall
601 Lakeside Ave., Cleveland, OH, United States.
This government building is most noted for Archibald Williad's famous painting Spirit of '76, which commemorates the U.S. battle for independence. It hangs in the rotunda.

Terminal Tower
50 Public Square, Cleveland, OH, United States.
This skyscraping beaux-arts train station looks like a two-stage rocket. In the '50s, it was the tallest building in the U.S. outside Manhattan. Ride up to the 42nd floor for an awesome view.

Museums. Galleries
Cleveland Museum Of Art
11150 E. Blvd., Cleveland, OH, United States.
The centerpiece of University Circle is the Cleveland Museum of Art, a white-marble temple set among spring-flowering trees and reflected in a lagoon. The museum is world renowned for its medieval European collection, Egyptian art, and European and American paintings. Its holdings include works by Picasso, Michelangelo, Monet, and Van Gogh. Other popular exhibits feature mummies, African masks, and weapons.

Great Lakes Science Center
601 Erieside Ave., Cleveland, OH, United States.
With more than 300 hands-on exhibits in a multilevel, state-of-the-art building by the lake, this science museum is a great place to learn about the environment and ecology. There's an Omnimax theater, too.

Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame And Museum
1 Key Plaza, Cleveland, OH, United States.
For a fabulous view of the lake, take East 9th Street to North Coast Harbor, formerly the East 9th Street Pier. The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and Museum has more than 55 high- and low-tech exhibits including interactive kiosks that provide a video and sound exploration of performers' contributions to the rock genre, and the Sun recording studio, where Elvis Presley, Carl Perkins, and Roy Orbison made their first records. Stage costumes that once belonged to Chuck Berry and Iggy Pop, handwritten lyrics by Jimi Hendrix, Janis Joplin's Porsche, and a number of thought-provoking films are among the museum's holdings.

USS Cod Submarine Museum
1089 N. Marginal Rd., Cleveland, OH, United States.

This submarine sank more than 12 Japanese ships during World War II. You can go onboard to see the workings of a sub and the living conditions for submariners.
Neighborhoods/Streets
The Flats
The Flats is the name for the lowlands near the mouth of the Cuyahoga River. Cleveland's earliest settlers chose this area for their cabins, but the swampy environment caused so much illness that most soon migrated to higher ground. The Flats ultimately were abandoned to commerce and industry; shipping and steel production took over during the 1900s. In the 1970s and 1980s the area enjoyed a new vitality as nightclubs and restaurants sprouted up. The nonprofit Flats Oxbow Association was organized in 1978 to promote the economic well-being of the area. Today, the Flats is Cleveland's entertainment district, with more than 60 restaurants and nightclubs, an outdoor amphitheater and boardwalks and patios along the riverfront.
Parks And Gardens
Cleveland Botanical Garden
11030 East Blvd. (east of downtown in University Circle), Cleveland, OH, United States.
Known as the "Garden Center of Greater Cleveland" back in 1930, the Botanical Garden is the oldest urban civic horticultural center in the country. Kids can explore the interactive Hershey Children's Garden.
Wineries/Breweries
Great Lakes Brewing Co.
2516 Market Ave., Cleveland, OH, United States.
The six buildings that make up the brewery were stables and a warehouse for the Schlather Brewing Company at the turn of the century. The buildings have been restored to expose the grandeur of the gabled roofs and cork walls. The two-story brew house has full glass walls so you can see the brewmasters at work.
Zoos, Aquariums
Cleveland Metroparks Zoo
3900 Wildlife Way, Cleveland, OH, United States.
The zoo is home to thousands of animals from all over the world, including twin Siberian tigers born in April 2001. The 2-acre/0.8-hectare RainForest is beautifulyit has ruins and a waterfall. Don't miss the new Australian Adventure.
